2013 Topps Stickers #163 Roy Halladay

Braves 9, Phillies 2
Game 2 - Wednesday Night, April 3rd in Atlanta
Record - 0-2, Tied for 4th Place, 2 games behind the Braves, Nationals and Mets

One Sentence Summary:  Roy Halladay's Spring Training struggles carried over into the regular season as the Braves easily took care of the Phillies in the rain, 9-2.

What It Means:  It's not going well.  The Phils will try to avoid the sweep tonight.

What Went Wrong:  Halladay didn't make it out of the fourth inning, and his official line is ugly, despite the strikeouts - 3 1/3 innings, 6 hits, 5 runs, 3 walks and 9 strikeouts.  He allowed two home runs.  Charlie Manuel pulled Halladay with one out in the fourth after 95 pitches.

The offense had their chances, but other than a two-run double from Chase Utley in the seventh, they just couldn't get it going.  Ryan Howard is 0 for the season so far and he'll look for his first hit again tonight.

Featured Cards:  I'm not going to lie - stickers make me happy.  And what this Phillies fan needs right about now is something to get happy about.  Topps returned to the sticker set racket in 2011 after a two decade absence.  I've waxed poetic about my love of Topps Stickers in the past in a few different posts.

The 2013 Topps Stickers Phillies team set consists of 10 different stickers - 8 current players, a legend (Mike Schmidt) and a team logo sticker (shared with the Pirates).  As pointed out in the set's entry over at 14,000 Phillies, the Cole Hamels sticker is available only with the purchase of the sticker album and it's on a perforated sheet with five other stickers.  Luckily, my kind wife picked up a sticker album for me yesterday from Target and the Hamels sticker is now alongside the other Phillies stickers in my growing 2013 Phillies binder.
