One Sentence Summary:  Felix Reyes provided a momentary spark with his first career home run, but otherwise it was the same disappointing offense from the Phillies in this 3-1 loss.

What It Means:  I keep wondering when and if they've hit the low point for the season, and maybe this is it?

What Happened:  All three Braves runs scored in the third and were unearned as Edmundo Sosa committed a costly error.  Christopher Sanchez allowed just those three unearned runs in his six innings of work, on eight hits while walking one and striking out eight.  J.T. Realmuto left the game in the seventh with back tightness.  Nothing is going right.

Featured Card:  Reyes, who has been raking for Lehigh Valley, earned a promotion and a start in left field.  He blasted a 2-0 pitch from Braves' starter Chris Sale to right field in the second inning for his first big league hit, run, home run and RBI.  It was a great moment in an otherwise forgettable game.  Reyes' first card can be found in the 2024 BlueClaws team set.

Transaction:  In a flurry of pre-game moves, Reyes (of) was selected from the IronPigs, Otto Kemp (of) was optioned down, Jhoan Duran (rhp) was placed on the injured list with a left oblique strain and Seth Johnson (rhp) was added back to the bullpen.  Pedro Leon (of) was released to make room for Reyes on the 40-man roster.

Record - 8-12-1

One Sentence Summary:  Bryse Wilson had a strong start and Felix Reyes hit a tie-breaking ninth inning home run as the Phillies downed the Yankees, 6-4.

What It Means:  A work day for me, but at least the Phillies were on in the background.

What Happened:  Wilson, who I would think is either the team's sixth or emergency starter at this point, threw three scoreless innings, allowing no hits and walking a pair.  Justin Crawford drove in the first run of the game with a single to score Rene Pinto in the third, after Pinto had reached on a ground-rule double.  A throwing error and an RBI single from Dylan Moore gave the Phillies a 3-0 lead.

With the score tied 4-4 heading to the ninth, Pedro Leon reached when he was hit by a pitch and Felix Reyes untied it with a two-run home run.  Nolan Hoffman pitched a perfect bottom of the ninth to secure the save.

Featured Card:  Reyes was already the featured card earlier this spring, but thanks to the Reading Fightin Phils releasing three (!) team sets last year, I have a few more cards of his to go.

Prior to the game, the Phillies optioned Alan Rangel (rhp) to Lehigh Valley and reassigned Keaton Anthony (inf) to minor league camp.

One Sentence Summary:  The Phillies mounted an impressive comeback to take the lead in the top of the seventh, but the bullpen couldn't lock it down as the Twins walked it off in the ninth.

What It Means:  This game was televised with the Twins' broadcasters calling the game, and I admittedly thought they were pretty good.  I had debated making the hour plus drive to today's Philly Show in Oaks, Pennsylvania, but opted to take a day off from driving instead.  I didn't add any cards to our set builds this weekend (1969 Topps, 1955 Bowman, 1959 Topps), but I'm way more rested than I'd be had I gone.  I also have a little more money in my pocket too.

What Happened:  Otto Kemp and Felix Reyes were the offensive stars for the Phillies, with Kemp hitting a solo home run in the first and Reyes giving his team the lead with a three-run shot in the seventh.  Twins' starting pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson shut the Phillies down for four innings following Kemp's homer.  Alan Rangel started for the Phillies and allowed three runs in the third.  Trevor Richards was touched for two runs in the sixth, and Jack Dallas was on the mound when Gabriel Gonzalez hit a sacrifice fly to score James Outman with the Twins' winning run.

Featured Card:  Reyes is likely going to be the starting first baseman for the IronPigs this year.  He's been in three minor league team sets over the past two seasons.
