Right-hander Andrew Carpenter was recalled from AAA Lehigh Valley following last night's extra-inning affair. (
Miguel Cairo was DFA'd to make room on the roster). Andrew, wearing #48 per the scorecard, but actually #42 on the field, will make his first Major League start in the second game of tonight's double header with the Nationals. (Everyone from both teams is wearing #42 in honor of Jackie Robinson).

Righty reliever Drew Carpenter scraped and clawed to make the Phillies Opening Day roster this year, only to be optioned back to AAA Lehigh Valley 2 games into the 2010 season. The Phils claimed Nelson Figueroa off waivers back on April 7th, and Carpenter was demoted to free up a roster spot. He's started 15 games for the IronPigs so far, going 6-6 with a 3.47 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 83 innings. He's #19 in this year's Chachi set.
