1956 Topps #81 Wally Westlake

Wally Westlake played a total of 5 games in his Phillies career going 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts in early 1956. He was released by the Phils on May 18, 1956, and never played another Major League game. Prior to coming to the Phillies, Wally played with the Pirates, Cardinals, Reds, Indians and Orioles. If you look closely, Wally is pictured swinging a bat in a Cardinals' uniform, a team he had last played for in 1952. We bought this card at the Ocean City Baseball Card Show in June 1992.
