Phillies 10, Cubs 2
Game 24 - Late Monday Night, May 1st in Chicago
Record - 12-12, 2nd place, 4 1/2 games behind the Nationals
One Sentence Summary: After a lengthy rain delay, the Phillies' offense came to life in this 10-2 win over the Cubs.
What It Means: Little did we know this would be their last win of the week.
What Happened: Aaron Altherr doubled home the first run in the first and Tommy Joseph followed that up with a three-run home run (2). Altherr added a two-run double in the second and made a great diving catch in the bottom of the 4th to save a few runs. It will be hard to take him out of the line-up once Howie Kendrick is healthy again.
Michael Saunders (2) and Freddy Galvis (4) also homered in this game. Vince Velasquez pitched five innings, allowing a run on two hits while striking out four.
Featured Card: This is Altherr's card from the team-issued photo card set, available for sale at the ballpark.
