Yankees 3, Phillies 1
Spring Training Game 20 - Wednesday Night, March 15th in Tampa
Record - 9-9-2
One Sentence Summary: The Yankees one-hit the Phillies and Clay Buchholz pitched well over five innings in this 3-1 nighttime loss.
What It Means: I've had another long week at work, it's a rainy Saturday afternoon and it's time to catch up on some spring training game summary posts.
What Happened: Michael Pineda and Aroldis Chapman held the Phillies hitless through six innings, and the single from Freddy Galvis to start the seventh was the team's sole hit of the game.
Clay Buccholz allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits in his five innings of work.
Featured Card: It's been a quiet spring for Galvis other than his having to answer questions about top prospect J.P. Crawford's impending arrival in the Majors. This is his newest card, from the just released 2017 Donruss set which bears a strong resemblance to the (now vintage) 1990 Donruss set.
The card incorrectly lists Galvis' position as "2B" even though he's only played four games at that position since 2015. Or perhaps this is a bit of foreshadowing?
Camp Head Count: 51
