Phillies 5, Braves 1
Game 85 - Tuesday Night, July 5th in Philadelphia
Record - 39-46, 4th place, 11 games behind the Nationals
One Sentence Summary: Backed by four solo home runs, Zach Eflin earned his first career victory with a complete game win over the Braves.
What It Means: This was a fun game to watch, and the Phillies seemed to be in complete control from the outset. It was kind of like the good old days.
What Happened: Eflin needed just 92 pitches for his gem, in which he allowed just one run on six hits. He also struck out six. Peter Bourjos (4), Cody Asche (4), Maikel Franco (16) and Tommy Joseph (9) provided the four solo home runs.
Featured Card: Eflin's first official Phillies card was released on Wednesday afternoon within the innovative Topps Now set. While I wait for that card to arrive from Topps, I'll have to make due with the other eight Eflin cards in my collection - all from minor league team sets.
