2015 Topps Pro Debut #39 J.P. Crawford

Giants 4, Phillies 2
Sunday Afternoon, July 12th in San Francisco
Record - 29-62, 5th Place, 21 games behind the Nationals

One Sentence Summary:  The Giants swept the hapless Phillies out of town with a 4-2 win prior to the much needed All-Star break.

What It Means:  The Phillies have never had 62 losses before the All-Star break until this season.  Their previous low point was 61 losses prior to the 1997 All-Star break.

What Happened:  Chad Billingsley, who could conceivably be the "ace" of the staff in a few weeks, lasted five innings and surrendered all four Giants runs.  Ryan Howard drove in both runs although his first RBI came when a pop up dropped in between three Giants fielders.

Featured Card:  J.P. Crawford started at shortstop in the annual Futures Game and finished the game going 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored.  He also looked good at short with his glove.  Aaron Nola was also selected to participate in the Futures Game, but since he had pitched Friday he wasn't available.

If nothing else, help is on the way for the big club.  Hopefully it arrives soon.

Don't forget to vote in the poll (on the left sidebar) to help determine the design to be used for the 2016 Chachi set!
