Phillies 1, Braves 0
Game 14 - Wednesday Night, April 16th in Philadelphia
Record - 6-8, 4th Place, 4 games behind the Braves
One Sentence Summary: Despite pitching another masterpiece, Cliff Lee was one again the losing pitcher in a game in which the Phillies managed just three singles.
What It Means: It means the Braves will go for the shortened series sweep this afternoon with A.J. Burnett on the mound.
What Happened: Lee's sole blemish was a solo home run to Evan Gattis in the fourth inning that just barely made it into the left field flower bed. Lee finished with a complete game loss and 13 strikeouts. Braves starting pitcher Julio Teheran pitched his first career shutout.
Featured Card: This is the latest Lee card in my collection, from the recently released Topps Gypsy Queen offering.
Over the coming week, I'm going to start posting each of this year's Chachi cards and I've decided to list within each post the first Phillies card of the player in my collection, as well as the most recent Phillies card of the player. Not to spoil anything, but thanks to having my Phillies collection complete and up to date on Zistle, I know that the card featured here is now my 145th different Lee card.
Transaction: Reliever Luis Garcia was sent back down to Triple-A Lehigh Valley after just one appearance. Taking his place on the roster was the newly activated reliever Mike Adams.
