2012 Topps Heritage #1 N.L. Batting Leaders

Brewers 10, Phillies 4
Game 7 - Tuesday Afternoon, April 8th in Philadelphia
Record - 3-4, Tied for 4th Place, 2 games behind the Nationals

One Sentence Summary:  Ryan Braun, shoddy Phillies defense and a poor start from Kyle Kendrick combined to give the Brewers a 10-4 win.

What It Means:  The Brewers ruined the Phillies home opener, turning the festive mood at the outset of the day into a disgruntled funk by early evening.

What Happened:  Braun, booed heavily every time he appeared, hit three home runs and drove in a career-high seven runs.  Kendrick lasted just five innings, allowing nine hits and six runs (four earned). He contributed one of the costly errors, along with Cody Asche and Ben Revere.  Revere booted a fly ball for the second time in two games.

Featured Card:  This is the sole Braun card in my Phillies collection, and it's only in there because of Hunter Pence's goofy floating head in the bottom left.  Which reminds me . . . as soon as things calm down again at work, I'll be posting my 2014 Topps Heritage want list.  Hopefully next week . . .
