2010 Topps Update #US-318 Domonic Brown

Phillies 7, Brewers 5
Game 57 - Sunday Afternoon, June 2nd in Philadelphia
Record - 27-30, 3rd Place, 7 1/2 games behind the Braves

One Sentence Summary:  Domonic Brown and Cliff Lee made sure the Phillies avoided the sweep, as the team held on to win against the Brewers, 7-5.

What It Means:  The credit for this victory lies with Brown and Lee, as the two top Phillies so far in 2013 combined to defeat Milwaukee.  The Phillies open up a series with the Marlins tonight and they'll try once again to inch closer to having a winning record.

What Went Right:  Lee shut out the Brewers until faltering in the eighth.  When all was said and done, he'd earn his seventh win while striking out 11 and dominating the Brewers offense throughout much of the game.

Brown fell a double short of the cycle.  He hit a three-run home run in the first and added an RBI-triple in the second.  Let's hope he can keep this up!

Featured Cards:  With all due respect to Lee, I have to give Brown the featured cards in this post.
Without his offense, the Phillies would be looking at a sweep from the Brewers.

Brown burst onto the baseball card scene in 2010, which was also the year he made his debut with the Phillies.  He appeared in the Reading Phillies team set, and Lehigh Valley IronPigs second series set.  He made his Phillies Team Issue debut with a card in series two, and he received a card in the Phillies Fan Appreciation Day Postcard set.  On a national level, Brown appeared on cards throughout all the Bowman releases and he appeared in the Topps Update and eTopps sets.  He also earned a few redemption cards from both the Topps base set and Finest.
