Game 29 - Thursday Night, May 2nd in Philadelphia
Record - 13-16, 3rd Place, 4 1/2 games behind the Braves
One Sentence Summary: Kyle Kendrick continued his impressive season as the Phillies won against the Marlins, 7-2.
What It Means: It means that if the Phillies can sweep the Marlins, and they should, they'll be back at .500. It also means that your staff ace of the Philadelphia Phillies is now officially Kyle Rodney Kendrick. Hard to believe, Harry.
What Went Right: Kendrick pitched seven innings, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out five. He didn't have his best stuff, but he effectively pitched out of a few jams and easily handled the Marlins line-up.
Domonic Brown and Ryan Howard contributed solo home runs early to pace the offense. Brown finished the night with three hits and two RBIs. The Phillies added three runs in the ninth to put the game away.
Featured Card: I'm keeping it simple by featuring Kendrick's base card from this year's Topps flagship set. If Kendrick keeps this pace throughout the season, I'll need to dig back into the archives for some older cards of his to feature.
