Game 30 - Friday Night, May 3rd in Philadelphia
Record - 14-16, 3rd Place, 3 1/2 games behind the Braves
One Sentence Summary: The Phillies won, 4-1, behind solo home runs from Ryan Howard, Chase Utley and Domonic Brown as Jonathan Pettibone produced another solid start.
What It Means: A win tonight gives the Phils the series win and moves them to within one game of .500.
What Went Right: Pettibone pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing a run on five hits. Antonio Bastardo created his own trouble by loading the bases in the seventh with one out, and then impressively striking out the next two Marlins batters.
The offense still isn't clicking on all cylinders, but the solo homers from Howard, Utley and Brown are good signs. Howard's home run in the second was his fifth and his average is now up to .288.
Featured Card: I'm heading to the game tonight, and I'll definitely check to see if any cards (maybe a Pettibone card?) have been added to the team-issued set. This is Utley's card from the set, and he gets the nod for this post as he re-claimed the team home run lead with his sixth homer in the third inning.
