Spring Training Game 17 - Tuesday Afternoon, March 12th in Clearwater
Record - 7-9-1
One Sentence Summary: Roy Halladay got rocked by the Tigers as the Phillies lost 10-6.
What It Means: Oh boy. This can't be good.
What Went Wrong: Halladay's line wasn't pretty - 2 2/3 innings pitched, six hits including two home runs, seven earned runs, four walks, a wild pitch and a hit batter. His velocity topped out in the mid-80s, which is a concern as well. After the game, Halladay said nothing was wrong with him physically. He was just tired. Let's hope.
On the bright side, Ben Revere had a three-hit day and Chase Utley hit his first home run of the spring.
Featured Card: I'm still waiting for my Topps Heritage Phillies master team set to arrive in the mail, so I'll take this opportunity to feature Halladay's Topps Turkey Red card. I'm going to be optimistic and assume that's a sunrise and not a sunset behind Halladay.
Camp Head Count: 47 minus 5 = 42. Pitchers Tyler Cloyd, B.J. Rosenberg and Mauricio Robles, along with catcher Sebastian Valle and outfielder Tyson Gillies were optioned to the minor leagues yesterday.
