1956 Topps #197 Granny Hamner
Only Larry Bowa, Mickey Doolan and Jimmy Rollins have played more games at shortstop for the Phillies than Granville Wilbur Hamner. He'd be higher on the list if he hadn't switched over to 2nd Base during the 1953, 1954 and 1957 seasons. Wearing #2, Granny played for the Phillies for parts of 15 years - from 1944 to 1958. He hit .429 in the 1950 World Series.
This was another May 1989 Millville Baseball Card Show purchase, for $7.50.
