2021 Chachi New Additions #4
2021 Chachi #24
A week after Sam Fuld was named the Phillies' new general manager, he and club president Dave Dombrowski executed the first transaction of their tenure, acquiring Jose Alvarado from the Rays in a three-team trade with the Dodgers. Based on early results from the 2021 season, the deal seems to be a steal for the Phillies as Alvarado has pitched well (most of the time) in high-leverage situations.
Alvarado has not had many baseball card appearances to date, and his first appearance in a Topps flagship set came on a 2017 Topps Update Rookie Combos card. Similar to a lot of new additions to the team for 2021, collectors are anxiously awaiting his first appearance on a Phillies baseball card.
