Braves 9, Phillies 2
Game 86 - Wednesday Night, July 3rd in Atlanta
Record - 45-41, 2nd place, 5 1/2 games behind the Braves
Annual Post-Vacation Game Summary Catch-Up, Part 7 of 10
One Sentence Summary: Nick Pivetta couldn't handle the Braves and the Phillies offense went quiet in this 9-2 loss.
What It Means: As difficult as it is for me to admit this, I realize the Braves are simply a better team at this point than the Phillies.
What Happened: Pivetta continued his inconsistent season with a 5 2/3 inning outing in which he allowed six runs (five earned) on five hits, including two home runs. In the sixth, Bryce Harper homered off Braves pitcher Bryse Wilson for his 200th career home run and his 1,000th career hit.
Featured Card: I believe the photo for this Stadium Club card of Harper's was taken during his first official spring appearance with the Phillies.
