Phillies 7, Brewers 4
Game 40 - Monday Night, May 13th in Philadelphia
Record - 24-16, 1st place, 3 1/2 games ahead of the Braves
One Sentence Summary: Bryce Harper continues to struggle at the plate, but his diving catch in the seventh inning kept the Brewers from clearing the bases and allowed the Phillies an opportunity to come back to win this game.
What It Means: Harper has heard some boos recently and he struck out three times to lower his season average to .222.
What Happened: With the score tied at 4-4 in the seventh, two outs and the bases loaded, Harper caught a Mike Moustakas line drive to preserve the tie. Doubles from J.T. Realmuto and Odubel Herrera in the bottom of the inning gave the Phillies a 7-4 lead.
Aaron Nola's struggles continued. He lasted three innings, allowing three runs on five hits. Adam Morgan (2-1) got the win in relief thanks to Harper's catch bailing him out of a jam.
Featured Card: I don't have any cards showing Harper playing defense yet, but here's his card from the recently released Topps Now Road to Opening Day set. 500 Phillies team sets were produced from this offering.
Transactions: Prior to the game, Edubray Ramos landed back in the Injured List with shoulder stiffness and Austin Davis was once again recalled from Lehigh Valley.
