Game 112 - 2018 Topps National Baseball Card Day SGA #PH-8 Jake Arrieta

Diamondbacks 3, Phillies 2 (14)
Game 112 - Late Monday Night, August 6th in Phoenix
Record - 63-49, 1st place, 1 game ahead of the Braves

Another Post-Vacation Catch-Up, Part 3 of 7

One Sentence Summary:  Seranthony Dominguez's blown save in the 9th wasted an outstanding performance from Jake Arrieta as the Diamondbacks eventually won the game in 14 innings, 3-2.

What It Means:  This game falls into the very small population of "games for which I did not see or hear a single live pitch" this season.

What Happened:  Arrieta threw eight scoreless innings, allowing only three hits.  Dominguez recorded only one out in his shaky outing, with David Peralta hitting a home run off him and another home run off Austin Davis in the 14th to win the game.

Featured Card:  Arrieta still gets the card for his performance, and I can only hope this late night loss doesn't come back to haunt the Phillies late in the season.
