Game 34 - 2018 Donruss #95 Odubel Herrera

Phillies 11, Giants 0
Game 34 - Monday Night, May 7th in Philadelphia
Record - 19-15, 2nd place, 1/2 game behind the Braves

One Sentence Summary:  Zach Eflin turned in another stellar performance and Odubel Herrera homered twice in this 11-0 Phillies win.

What It Means:  Jimmy Rollins visited Citizens Bank Park last night for the first time since retiring as he was in town to ring the bell prior to the Sixers play-off game.  Eflin was part of the return the Phillies received when they traded Rollins to the Dodgers in December 2015.

What Happened:  Eflin allowed four hits and struck out nine in his 6 2/3 innings of work, earning his first win of the year.  Joining Herrera in the homer parade were Cesar Hernandez (4) and Carlos Santana (4).

Jesmuel Valentin singled in the seventh for his first big league hit.  Seranthony Dominguez made his major league debut, touching 97 on the radar gun and throwing a perfect eighth inning.  He struck out Evan Longoria to record his first big league K.

Featured Cards:  I have a pile of Herrera cards and not many Eflin cards, which made my decision to feature a Herrera card in this post easier.  I also wanted to include a card of Dominguez to mark his debut and as of this writing, I have only three of his cards in my collection.  I wouldn't be surprised if Dominguez finds himself in the closer's role sooner rather than later.

Transaction:  Dominguez was recalled from the IronPigs when Adam Morgan landed on the disabled list with a back injury.  Dominguez had pitched in only 3 games for the IronPigs prior to his promotion.
