Phillies 5, Diamondbacks 3
Game 23 - Wednesday Night, April 25th in Philadelphia
Record - 15-8, 2nd place, 1/2 game behind the Mets
One Sentence Summary: Jake Arrieta battled through his start, keeping the Phillies in the game long enough for Aaron Altherr's 3-run home run in the sixth to put the team ahead for good.
What It Means: So close to first place, yet so far away.
What Happened: Arrieta didn't have his best stuff, and he it seemed as if he was working out of trouble every inning mostly due to sloppy play behind him. Still, he held on to allow three runs (only one earned) on four hits in his seven inning outing. Altherr's home run (3) came off Diamondbacks starter Zack Greinke. Cesar Hernandez had three hits and scored twice.
Featured Card: Altherr seems to have a knack for coming up with the big hits this season, and this is his third featured card in a game summary post so far.
