Totally Awesome! 2017 Chachi Archives Continues!

Brewers 9, Phillies 6
Game 88 - Friday Night, July 14th in Milwaukee
Record - 29-59, 5th place, 23 1/2 games behind the Nationals

One Sentence Summary:  Nick Pivetta suffered though an 8-run second inning as the Brewers demolished the Phillies, 9-6.

What It Means:  This game actually could have been a lot uglier as the first place Brewers are one of the better hitting teams in baseball.

What Happened:  The Phillies scored two quick runs in the first, and for a brief moment it seemed as if the second half of the season would be different.  And then the bottom of the second arrived. Pivetta ended up throwing five innings, allowing nine runs on seven hits, including two home runs in the second - a three-run home run to Orlando Arcia and a grand slam to Ryan Braun.

Odubel Herrera hit a two-run home run in the sixth.  Aaron Altherr, the team's best and hottest hitter, left the game in the fifth inning after injuring his hamstring running out a double.

Featured Cards:  The Brewers are celebrating their championship 1982 season all weekend and both teams are wearing throw-back uniforms.  This gives me a chance to expand the Chachi Archives set with three more cards and I'll add more throughout the weekend if good pictures are available.

I would be one happy fan if the Phillies went back to the baby blue road jerseys full time.

I watched the game and said to myself, I WILL end up buying one of those jerseys through the Phillies Authentics program. Hopefully they are priced starting at $125 or so like most of the game-used jerseys are. Nick Pivetta was sweating a lot, so if his is up for sale, hopefully it gets washed. Actually I would love to get Bowa's or Samuel's since they both wore that style back in the day. Neither would have worn it in 1982 of course (too late for Bowa, too early for Samuel). Bummer the Phils don't win but at least the Brewers fans enjoyed the game. We don't have a lot of championships but we do have two more than the Brewers, so let them enjoy their one NL championship!

The world needs more baby blue uniforms. I would love to see the Phils, Blue Jays, Royals, etc., bring them back full-time.

Pete Mackanin also would have work that, now that I think about it.

Nice job (again) on the Chachi Archives!

That's two throwback starts for Nick Pivetta... He probably walks into the clubhouse and says "(*sigh*) What year is it *now*???"

I would not be averse to the Phillies wearing these unis more often. I've always thought that if only one team were to go powder blue, it would be the Royals... or maybe the Blue Jays. They *do* have 'blue' right there in the team name.

I'm hoping the team takes notice of how much people liked the baby blue throw-backs and they replace one of their current alternate uniforms with at least a baby blue jersey.
