1970 Topps #56
1970 Topps Appreciation:  This is the first card of two on which prospects Joe Lis and Scott Reid would appear as Phillies Rookie Stars.  Both would appear on Rookie Stars cards again within the 1971 Topps set - Lis with Willie Montanez and Reid with Greg Luzinski.

Neither player would receive a solo Phillies mainstream baseball card, although Lis appeared in both the 1971 and 1972 Phillies Photocards set.  Lis served as a back-up outfielder for the Phils between 1970 and 1972 and he was shipped to the Twins in November 1972 as part of the Cesar Tovar deal. He wrapped up his eight-year career with 9 games for the expansion Mariners club in 1977.

Reid appeared in 38 games with the Phillies in 1969 and 1970, hitting .147 (10 for 68).  Following his playing career, Reid served as a scout for the Phillies and he was responsible for the signing of Mike Maddux.  He later worked in the front offices for the Cubs and Marlins, and he's currently a senior advisor for the Tigers.

AHA! So REID'S the one responsible for scouting and signing the wrong Maddux!
