Game 114 - Late Monday Night, August 8th in Los Angeles
Record - 52-62, 4th place, 15 1/2 games behind the Nationals
One Sentence Summary: Chase Utley faced the Phillies for the first time, hitting a solo home run in the second, as the Dodgers cruised to a 9-4 win.
What It Means: Used to be a time when I wouldn't miss any of these West Coast games. We watched Utley bat in the first and then promptly went to bed. And it seems as if we made the right choice.
What Happened: Zach Eflin was torched, allowing seven runs on seven hits and two walks in his three innings of work. Severino Gonzalez gets the gold star for this game for pitching three innings of scoreless, mop-up relief. Tommy Joseph hit his 15th home run, the most by a Phillies rookie since Ryan Howard hit 22 in 2005.
Featured Card: We still miss you Chase.
