Philllies 5, Padres 4
Game 111 - Late Friday Night, August 5th in San Diego
Record - 51-60, 4th place, 15 games behind the Nationals
One Sentence Summary: Cameron Rupp drove in four runs and Jeremy Hellickson pitched well again in this 5-4 late night win over the Padres.
What It Means: I don't recall the last time a Phillies regular season game started this late. The 10:40 start time meant I was already sound asleep by the time Hellickson threw his first pitch. (And it's nice to see Hellickson still here with the Phils.)
What Happened: Rupp has been hot lately, homering in this third straight game. Hellickson allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings and Jeanmar Gomez saved his 28th game.
Featured Card: I've already burned through my supply of Rupp's 2016 baseball cards, so we'll need to go back a few years for this featured card. This is Rupp's sole baseball card from 2012, when he was a member of the High-A Clearwater Threshers.
Transaction: As the roster roulette continued, Gomez was activated from the paternity leave list and reliever Elvis Araujo was sent back down to Lehigh Valley after just one game back on the big league roster.
