Marlins 2, Phillies 1 (10)
Game 95 - Tuesday Night, July 19th in Philadelphia
Record - 43-52, 4th place, 13 1/2 games behind the Nationals
One Sentence Summary: Vince Velasquez pitched another gem, but the offense couldn't produce and the Marlins won in the 10th on a Christian Yelich single off Daniel Stumpf.
What It Means: So I've fallen a little behind in these game summary posts. It's no secret that they're much more fun to compose when the Phillies are winning than when they're mired in losing streaks.
What Happened: Velasquez threw seven strong innings, allowing just a run on three hits while striking out five. Tommy Joseph accounted for two of the team's five hits, including a solo home run (13) in the fourth.
Featured Card: I sure hope Velasquez appears on more Topps cards in some upcoming releases. So far he's appeared on just a Topps Now card and within the two team-issued photo card sets.
