Game 57 - Sunday Afternoon, June 5th in Philadelphia
Record - 28-29, 4th place, 6 games behind the Nationals
One Sentence Summary: Jimmy Paredes and Cameron Rupp hit back-to-back home runs in the Phillies' biggest inning of the season, leading to the 8-1 defeat of the Brewers.
What It Means: The Phils split the series with the Brewers, and they'll open a three game series against a very good Cubs ball club.
What Happened: The fifth inning marked the first time all season the Phils had scored five runs in any one inning. Tommy Joseph barely missed a home run, but Paredes and Rupp followed up with blasts of their own to make it 8-0. Maikel Franco had earlier hit a solo home run in the third and Cesar Hernandez had an RBI triple in the fourth.
Aaron Nola worked in and out of trouble for six innings, allowing no runs and eight hits while striking out nine.
Featured Cards: The Phillies wore their '70s retro uniforms again for this game so I'll add two more cards to the 2016 Chachi Archives insert set. The complete set now stands at 15 cards. Mike Schmidt threw out the first pitch before this game (with Greg Luzinski).
