Game 60 - Wednesday Afternoon, June 8th in Philadelphia
Record - 29-31, 4th place, 7 1/2 games behind the Nationals
One Sentence Summary: Vince Velasquez left the game after throwing only two pitches and the Cubs absolutely pummeled the Phils, 8-1.
What It Means: Velasquez was diagnosed with biceps soreness and he'll be re-evaluated on Thursday.
What Happened: This turned into an unexpected bullpen game with Brett Oberholtzer (4 innings, 1 unearned run) absorbing most of the innings. The Cubs did mostly all of their damage against Andrew Bailey (1 2/3 innings, 3 runs) and Colton Murray (2 innings, 4 runs).
John Lackey held the Phillies to three hits.
Featured Card: Here's hoping that Velasquez is OK and this injury sets him back only a few starts. This is his Topps Now card featuring one of the few highlights of the 2016 season for the Phillies. (Although I'm still partial to his Chachi Now card.)
