1970 Topps #171
1970 Topps #384
1970 Topps Appreciation:  On June 15, 1972, the Braves traded pitchers Jim Nash and Gary Neibauer to the Phillies for Joe Hoerner and Andre Thornton.  Hoerner had been an All-Star with the Phillies in 1970 and he's come back for a double dip season in 1975.  Thornton was another prospect who got away from the Phils.  The two-time All-Star hit at least 20 home runs in six different seasons with the Indians and he finished his 14-year career with 253 total home runs.

Nash started eight games for the 1972 Phillies, going 0-8 with a 6.27 ERA.  His sole Phillies card actually depicting him in a Phillies uniform can be found in the 1972 Phillies Photocards set.  He's listed with the Phillies on his 1973 Topps card, but he's wearing a badly airbrushed Braves uniform.

Neibauer's Phillies career was even shorter than Nash's.  In nine games, including two starts, Neibauer went 0-2 with a 5.30 ERA.  He also has a Phillies card within the 1972 Phillies Photocards set.

One of Paul Owens' very first trades as GM - a complete waste!
