Phillies 3, Nationals 2 (10)
Game 13 - Sunday Afternoon, April 17th in Philadelphia
Record - 6-7, Tied for 2nd place, 4 games behind the Nationals
One Sentence Summary: Freddy Galvis delivered a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the 10th off Jonathan Papelbon to give the Phillies a dramatic 3-2 win.
What It Means: It means the Phillies avoided the sweep from the Nationals. Galvis is now 3 for 3 with a double, home run, walk and two RBIs off Papelbon since the Phillies traded him to the Nationals last July. Papelbon is 1-2 with a 12.27 ERA and two blown saves against the Phillies in that same span.
I can't say this win didn't feel extra special since it was Papelbon on the receiving end (again).
What Happened: Once again, the Phillies struggled to put up any offense. Bryce Harper hit a solo home run off Jeanmar Gomez in the top of the 10th to give the Nationals a 2-1 lead. In the bottom of the inning, Peter Bourjos doubled with one out and scored the tying run on an Andres Blanco single. That set up Galvis' heroic hit, scoring Blanco and giving the Phils the win.
Featured Card: Perhaps another Phillies Topps Now card is on the way? This is Galvis' card from this year's Topps Heritage set, featuring the Sunday home alternate jersey that the Phillies wore in this game.
