Phillies 6, Tigers 6
Spring Training Game 12 - Thursday Afternoon, March 10th in Clearwater
Record - 7-3-2
One Sentence Summary: Maikel Franco hit two more home runs while Aaron Nola struggled in a 6-6 tie with the Tigers.
What It Means: I'll try not to be too concerned over Nola's spring so far, but his 11.57 ERA in 4 2/3 innings pitched is ugly. He did strike out four in his outing yesterday, so that's certainly a positive.
What Happened: The Tigers touched closer candidate Ernesto Frieri for two runs in the top of the ninth to take the lead but Ryan Jackson homered in the bottom of the ninth to tie up the game.
Featured Card: Franco and Nola will probably lead the way for the Phillies in terms of appearances on baseball cards this season. Here's a card of Franco's issued late in 2015 that didn't have a chance to be featured in a 2015 game summary post.
Camp Head Count: 66 - 3 = 63 - The first cuts of the spring came yesterday, with pitching prospects Zach Eflin, Jake Thompson and Mark Appel all being reassigned to minor league camp. I really hope to see each of these guys pitching in Philadelphia at some point this season.
