Phillies 12, Braves 2
Game 105 - Saturday Night, August 1st in Philadelphia
Record - 41-64, 5th Place, 14 1/2 games behind the Nationals
One Sentence Summary: The Phillies continued with their amazing, surprising winning ways with a 12-2 trouncing of the Braves.
What It Means: This win gave the Phils a 12-2 record since the All-Star break and gave them a legitimate chance at a four-game sweep of the Braves.
What Happened: Aaron Nola earned his second win, pitching five inning and allowing two runs. Cameron Rupp (2), Odubel Herrera (5) and Freddy Galvis (5) all homered in this game. Herrera joined Ryan Howard with three hits a piece, while Galvis and Rupp both drove in three runs.
Featured Card: Catcher Rupp's three-run home run in the fourth gave the Phillies a 5-2 lead and meant that Nola would come away with the win. As is the fate of many back-up catchers, Rupp hasn't received any mainstream baseball cards this year but he does have cards in both Phillies photo card sets.
