Dodgers 4, Phillies 3
Game 108 - Wednesday Night, August 5th in Philadelphia
Record - 42-66, 5th Place, 16 games behind the Mets
One Sentence Summary: Yasiel Puig's three-run home run in the first inning off Aaron Harang was too much to overcome as the Dodgers won, 4-3.
What It Means: We didn't watch much of this ballgame as we were busy taking in the sights and sounds of the Ocean City Boardwalk.
What Happened: Harang lasted five innings, giving up all four Dodgers runs, and Hector Neris and Elvis Araujo did a great job of keeping the Dodgers off the board through the final four innings. Jeff Francoeur's two-run home run in the eighth wasn't enough to overcome the early deficit.
Featured Card: While on the Boardwalk, Doug picked up four packs of junk wax-era baseball cards for a dollar a pack. Exactly like I would have done, he separated any cards with Phillies connections into a separate pile, including this 1991 Upper Deck card of current Phillies broadcaster Larry Andersen.
