Angels 4, Phillies 3
Game 121 - Late Wednesday Night, August 13th in Anaheim
Record - 53-68, 5th Place, 13 1/2 games behind the Nationals
One Sentence Summary: A.J. Burnett allowed three runs in the sixth as the Phils dropped another forgettable game to the Angels, 4-3.
What It Means: These losses are all starting to run together.
What Happened: Burnett has been flat-out Kendrick-ish (Kendrick-ian?) in his recent outings, and this latest performance dropped him to 6-13 with a 4.35 ERA on the season. The offense managed 11 hits, but went 3 for 12 with runners in scoring position.
Featured Card: I called it a night after four innings, and when I checked Twitter on Thursday morning most of the game-related Tweets seemed to be focused on Ken Giles' impressive strikeout of Mike Trout in the seventh inning. Giles hit triple digits on the radar before striking out Trout swinging with an 89mph slider. If (when) the Phillies are able to unload Jonathan Papelbon this offseason, I'm really looking forward to watching Giles close games in 2015.
