Phillies 9, Brewers 1
Game 92 - Thursday Afternoon, July 10th in Milwaukee
Record - 41-51
One Sentence Summary: The offense absolutely exploded in the final two innings of this game, stunning the Brewers, and leading to a 9-1 Phillies win.
What It Means: The Phillies completed their first ever four-game sweep of the Brewers. They'll open up a three game series against the Nationals at home before breaking for four days for the All-Star Game.
What Happened: The Phils were no-hit through six innings and then piled on seven runs in the eighth and another two runs in the ninth for good measure. The big blows were a two-run single from Jimmy Rollins that started the scoring, a two-run double from Cody Asche, a two-run single from Domonic Brown and Ryan Howard's two-run home run in the ninth to cap things off.
Featured Card: Not to be outdone by Roberto Hernandez's performance from the day before, David Buchanan pitched a fantastic ballgame. In seven innings of work, Buchanan allowed a run on four hits while striking out five. This is Buchanan's card from the 2012 Topps Pro Debut set.
My hope is that Buchanan appears in either the Topps Update set or the Phillies Team Issue 2.0 set (or both).
Transaction: Following the game, Buchanan was optioned to the IronPigs, solely to keep him pitching during the All-Star break. Outfielder Grady Sizemore was recalled and Cliff Lee was transferred to the 60-day disabled list. The transfer doesn't really mean much, as Lee is eligible to be activated next Friday.

Hmm... The only reason to move Lee to the 60-day DL at this point is to open up a spot on the 40-man roster. I wonder what Ruben is up to?
