2013 Choice Lehigh Vallery IronPigs Update #8 Luis Garcia

Nationals 6, Phillies 1
Game 147 - Friday Night, September 13th in Washington
Record - 68-79, 3rd Place, 20 games behind the Braves

One Sentence Summary:  Kyle Kendrick turned in another less than stellar start, as the Nationals easily handled the Phillies, 6-1.

What It Means:  Only 15 more games to go . . .

What Went Wrong:  Kendrick is a bum.  He was pulled with one out in the fourth having allowed six runs on eight hits.  He departed with the score at 4-1, but two more of his runners scored when Wilson Ramos hit a ball of reliever Luis Garcia's foot.  The ball sailed into the air, plopped down next to Garcia and the score was 6-1 Nationals.

Featured Card:  It's been almost a week since I posted a card from my favorite set, design-wise, of the year.  If you're one of the ten people who want to track down a 2013 baseball card of Garcia, this is your only option.

Thanks to reader Steve F. for pointing out that this particular design by Choice is officially known in the business as "Front Style 219."  If you take the time to scroll through the various design offerings from Choice, you'll recognize some of the designs as being very similar to prior year designs from all the major manufacturers.  I'm partial to the 1983 Topps inspired Front Style 2106 myself.

15 games left? Will we have time to get through the rest of the Iron Pigs update set?

And who said there wouldn't be any drama left on the blog as the season winds down?
