Another Massive, Post-Vacation, Why Do I Even Bother Catch-Up, Part 6 of 8
One Sentence Summary: Ethan Martin made his big league debut and was treated rudely by the Braves in a 6-4 loss.
What It Means: Martin was starting in place of an injured Jonathan Pettibone. A season that once held so much promise now seems like it will become a stage for extended auditions for various Phillies prospects.
What Went Wrong: Martin pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing six runs on eight hits while striking out six. Darin Ruf (3), Delmon Young (8) and Chase Utley (15) all hit home runs in the losing effort.
Featured Card: Martin came to the Phillies organization last summer in the Shane Victorino trade with the Dodgers. He's appeared within a number of Razor and Tristar products as a member of the Dodgers organization, as well as within the 2011 Bowman Chrome Prospects set. His first mainstream cards as a member of the Phillies organization came within this year’s Topps Pro Debut and Bowman Chrome sets.
