Phillies at Diamondbacks: May 9th to May 12th

Thursday and Friday 9:40, Saturday 8:10 and Sunday 4:10
Chase Field - Phoenix, AZ

Phillies 16-19, 3rd Place in the N.L. East, 5 games behind the Braves
Diamondbacks 19-15, 3rd Place in the N.L. West, 1 game behind the Giants

Phillies Probables:  Cole Hamels (1-4, 4.34), Tyler Cloyd (0-0, 0.00), Cliff Lee (3-2, 3.26), Kyle Kendrick (4-1, 2.45)
Diamondbacks Probables:  Patrick Corbin (4-0, 1.80), Ian Kennedy (1-3, 5.19), Trevor Cahill (2-3, 2.80), Brandon McCarthy (0-3, 6.75)

At the Ballpark:  After experiencing years of the standard 7:05 week-day Phillies start-time, I find it interesting when other teams start their home games at different times.  Tonight and tomorrow night's game start at 6:40 local time in Phoenix, while Saturday night's game starts at 5:10 local time.  I wonder why they do that?  Fans attending the oddly timed Friday night game will be able to enjoy post-game fireworks.

I'm out here in Colorado and we have a lot of 6:40 starts. I love the slightly earlier starting time. It's great when you're taking a kid to the game. Maybe 6:40 is a western thing.

I think I'd like the earlier start times too - especially on Saturdays.
