Game 33 - Late Monday Night, May 6th in San Francisco
Record - 15-18, 3rd Place, 5 games behind the Braves
One Sentence Summary: Cliff Lee actually received some support from the offense as the Phillies downed the Giants, 6-2.
What It Means: Yesterday was mostly doom and gloom in Phillies-Land as the team awaited word on the extent of Roy Halladay's shoulder injury. This was a nice, clean Phillies win in which the pitchers pitched and the hitters hit. We all needed this.
What Went Right: Lee was fantastic in his eight innings of work, allowing just two runs on five hits. Michael Young started the scoring with a two-run double in the second. He finished the night with three hits, raising his impressive average to .333.
Domonic Brown hit a solo home run in the sixth that landed in McCovey Cove.
Featured Card: I featured Halladay's card from the Gypsy Queen Dealing Aces insert set yesterday morning, and this is Lee's card from the same set. It's early in the baseball card season, but the Dealing Aces set is my favorite insert set so far this year. That will probably go out the window once Topps Archives is released later this month.
