Phillies 3, Diamondbacks 1
Game 38 - Saturday Night, May 11th in Phoenix
Record - 17-21, 3rd Place, 5 games behind the Braves
One Sentence Summary: Cliff Lee and Jonathan Papelbon held the Diamondbacks offense at bay as the Phils finally won in Phoenix, 3-1.
What It Means: It wasn't a great night for the offense (again) but it was great to watch Lee work as he earned his fourth victory of 2013. A win this afternoon will give the Phillies a split in this series.
What Went Right: Lee shut out the Diamondbacks through seven innings and allowed six hits while striking our three. Papelbon earned his sixth save by recording the final five outs of the game.
Jimmy Rollins drove in Ben Revere twice - first with a sac fly in the fifth and then with a single to center in the seventh.
Featured Card: There were plenty of Papelbon stare-downs in last night's game, especially in the ninth inning. Papelbon retired the first batter, but then allowed a single and a double to put runners at first and third. He kicked it up a notch and struck out the final two batters of the ballgame, all while displaying the look shown on his Topps Calling Cards insert card. The Calling Cards insert set is probably one of the better insert sets found within Topps Series One.
