Cardinals 5, Phillies 0
Game 151 - Sunday Night, September 18th in Philadelphia
One Sentence Summary: And on the 151st day, the day after clinching the pennant, the Phillies rested.
What It Means: A whole lot of nothing. The Phillies are 98-53 and their magic number to clinch the best record in the National League remains at two.
What Went Wrong: Cole Hamels (14-9) stuck out nine, but two, two-run home runs did him in. The offense managed eight hits off Cardinals starter Chris Carpenter - all singles.
One positive - Chase Utley went three for four.
Featured Card: Wearing #37, Justin De Fratus made his Major League debut last night, pitching a scoreless ninth inning. He received a rude welcome to the Majors when Lance Berkman flew out to the deepest part of center fielder on the first pitch he threw. Shane Victorino tracked the ball down, and the rookie settled in to log his first big league inning.
