Phillies 11, Marlins 4
Game 145 - Monday Night, September 13th in Miami
I've been in a work-induced haze since this weekend, but I'm finally coming up for air. This game seems like years ago, although it was only a few nights ago. In lieu of trying to form complete sentences, here are the pertinent highlights from this Marlins' beat-down in Miami and a hatless Carlos Ruiz baseball card:
- Chooch went 3 for 4 with 4 RBIs, which included a 2-run bomb of a home run to left in the 4th inning.
- The Phils were set down in order in the 1st, but they scored at least a run from every inning between the 2nd and 7th.
- Joe Blanton put together another decent outing, and he's been consistently decent over his last several outings: 6 innings, 5 hits, 1 run, 8 strikeouts.
- Jayson Werth, Chase Utley and Greg Dobbs also added home runs for the Phils in their offensive barrage.
- Charlie Manuel barely avoided Shane Victorino's bat in the 4th when Victorino lost his grip on a swing and sent the bat flying into the Phillies' dugout directly at Manuel's head.
- The announced crowd at Sun Life Stadium was 20,616, but by all accounts there were fewer than 5,000 fans present.
