Records: Mets 54-54, 3rd Place in NL East (8 games behind the Braves); Phillies 60-48, 2nd Place in NL East (2 games behind the Braves)
Long-time catcher Darren Daulton will be inducted into the Phillies Wall of Fame tonight in a pre-game ceremony. The 3-time National League All-Star was the heart and soul of the Phils' 1993 NL Championship team, enjoying his second straight 100+ RBI and 20+ home run season. The Phillies will celebrate their alumni all weekend with festivities planned before all three games. Among the 45 returning Phillies alumni are Daulton, John Kruk, Jim Eisenreich, Steve Carlton, Mike Schmidt, Bob Boone, Garry Maddox an Dick Allen.
If the picture I used for this 1985 Topps card that never was looks familiar, it's because I borrowed it from Daulton's 1985 Fleer Update card. It always bugged me that Daulton was featured in Fleer's Update set and Not Topps' Traded set. 25 years later, I'm righting that wrong.
Mets Probables: Jon Niese, Johan Santana, R.A. Dickey
