Game 52 - Wednesday Afternoon, June 2nd in Atlanta
I was out of town toiling at my chosen profession this week, and I barely had time to check the Phillies score on Wednesday afternoon as they were on their way to being swept out of Atlanta. It's probably best I didn't get to see or listen to any of this game. Focusing on the positive, Kyle Kendrick looks to have pitched a wonderful game, going 7 innings and allowing just one run on 5 hits. But it was all for naught. Jose Contreras surrendered the tie-breaking run in the 8th, and the Phils slumped into their off-day having gone 2-7 on a positively dreadful road trip.
And that's all I'm going to say about that.
Imperfect: Former Phillies' farmhand Jason Donald became the answer to the following future trivia question on Wednesday: Which Cleveland Indian was ruled safe with 2 outs in the 9th inning, when he was clearly out, ruining Tigers' pitcher Armando Galarraga's perfect game? Donald was one of four prospects the Phillies shipped to Cleveland in July 2009 for Cliff Lee.
