I'm not a huge fan of reality TV, but I'll admit we've been long-time fans of the Amazing Race TV show. The show/race follows teams of two in a race around the world through a dozen or so episodes. Tonight is the season premiere of the show's 16th season, and we'll be tuning in to cheer on former Phillies coach Steve Smith. Steve is competing in the race with his daughter, Allison.
Steve was the team's third base coach in 2007 and 2008, so he's got himself a World Series ring. Following the 2008 World Series, manager
Charlie Manuel made the decision to cut ties with Steve and
Mark Perlozzo was named third base coach for 2009. Steve is currently the third base coach for the Cleveland Indians.
Best of luck to Steve and Allison!

They made me nervous when they started to paint the wrong house...oops! Thank goodness they still did well!
Love this show, too. Stopped by to see if you saw this. Looks like you have.
BTW, turns out he's in my CMC set, too. I just got a post up myself. Oh, and tomorrow, I got a Red Baron going, one with a hat.
Steve - I checked out your post, and I had forgotten about the suspensions/anger issues he's had in the past. It will be interesting to see if that comes out during the race!
And hopefully he doesn't paint any more random houses!
I'll guess tomorrow's post is Todd Frohwirth - he's the only guy with a hat I can think of right now.
An astute Friend 'o the Blog pointed out the Phillies current third base coach is Sam Perlozzo, and not Mark Perlozzo. I'm not sure who Mark Perlozzo is, but I'm sure he's a pleasant fellow.
