Danny Ozark was the manager of the Phillies when I attended my first Phillies game in 1979. Sadly, Danny passed away Thursday at the age of 85.Prior to being named the Phils' manager in 1972, Danny spent 8 years (1965-1972) as Walter Alston's 3rd base coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers. In his 6+ years as the Phillies manager, he led the team to NL East titles in 1976, 1977 and 1978. (1976 was the Phillies first Postseason appearance since 1950). Only Hall of Famer Harry Wright (1,227) and Gene Mauch (1,331) have managed more Phillies games than Danny Ozark (1,105).

I hadn't heard that Ozark passed away. When my friends and I listened to Phillies games on the radio when Ozark was the manager we used to play a game called "If I was Danny Ozark" and try to outguess his next move.
I have that card as well.
