1956 Topps #180 Robin Roberts

Lois Anne's favorite Phillie.

Hall of Famer Robin Roberts is still an active part of the Phillies' family, showing up frequently for special occasions and first pitches. In 1956, Robin won 19 games, and for the 5th year in a row, led the N.L. in complete games. Wearing #36, Robin played for the Phils from 1948 to 1961. He had his number retired in 1962, was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1976, and became the first member of the Phillies Wall of Fame in 1978.

Of the 342 total cards in the 1956 Topps set, this is one of only 4 cards that I have no record of us obtaining. Christmas present? Birthday present? All I know for sure is that we acquired it at some point before 1988.
