Philadelphia Phillies  0
New York Mets  6

2025 Topps Living #815
Wednesday Night, August 27th
Citi Field - Flushing, NY
76-57, 1st Place, 4 games ahead of the Mets

One Sentence Summary:  Rookie Nolan McLean impressively dominated the Phillies offense, as the Mets completed the three-game sweep with a 6-0 win.

What It Means:  Heading into this series with a seven game lead, taking one of the three games seemed like a decent outcome.  A complete lack of timely offense and suspect pitching led to the three-game sweep, cutting the Phillies' lead in the division to four games.

What Happened:  McLean could be a problem for years to come.  He limited the Phillies to four singles over eight shutout innings, striking out six.  Taijuan Walker took the loss, allowing four runs on 10 hits in five innings of work.  Tanner Banks had a rare bad outing, allowing two more runs in the seventh.  The Phillies' offense managed five singles the entire game, going 0 for 3 with runners in scoring position.

Featured Card:  Chase Utley and I both have similar feelings about the Mets.
