Spring Training Game 21 - Thursday Afternoon, March 14th in Clearwater
Record - 10-8-3
One Sentence Summary: We're two weeks away from opening day, and this was the final split squad double header on the spring schedule for the Phillies.
What It Means: I'm ready for some baseball that counts.
What Happened: Against the Rays, Drew Anderson turned in his latest impressive outing, pitching four shutout innings while allowing 2 hits. Yacksel Rios picked up the win with two scoreless innings of his own. Gift Ngoepe (1) and Dylan Cozens (4) both homered in the win.
Jake Arrieta and the Phillies were shellacked by the Pirates in Clearwater. Arrieta gave up 5 runs on 6 hits over 3 1/3 innings. Cesar Hernandez had a hit in his first game back after missing two weeks with a hip injury.
Featured Card: Hernandez, Maikel Franco and Aaron Nola are expected to be the only three players from last year's opening day line-up playing the same positions for the Phillies on March 28th.
Camp Head Count: 49. The Phillies have exactly two weeks to trim down the roster by 24 more players.
