Yankees 8, Phillies 3
Spring Training Game 3 - Sunday Afternoon, February 25th in Clearwater
Record - 1-2
One Sentence Summary: Aaron Nola made his first spring start and the Phillies offense managed just four hits in this 8-3 loss to the Yankees.
What It Means: Nola's pitching line wasn't pretty - 2 innings, 4 runs, 3 hits - but he would have been out of first inning trouble had Maikel Franco caught an infield pop up. Following the game, manager Gabe Kapler named Nola the opening day starting pitcher.
What Happened: Franco hit his first home run of the spring and Dylan Cozens had a double. Seranthony Dominguez pitched another scoreless inning, striking out two.
Featured Card: Topps resurrected the Topps Gallery brand in November and a full set was released after a 14-year absence. (The last full Topps Gallery set came out in 2003.) Only Nola, Franco and Jake Thompson made it from the Phillies into the set.
Camp Head Count: 63
